Can I give my sub agents a credit limit so they can book without paying me first every time?
Yes, credit control for sub agents is a normal part of travel agency software, and most agencies that sell through a network of smaller agents use it. Each sub agent gets their own login, you set a credit limit against that login, and every booking they make reduces the balance available to them. When they settle with you, you top the balance back up, and they can carry on booking.
In day to day use it works quietly in the background. Your agent searches and books as usual, and the system checks the remaining balance before it lets the booking go through. If the limit is used up, the booking is stopped and they are told to clear their dues. You can usually see each agent's balance, their booking history and their outstanding amount in one place, and you can raise or reduce a limit at any time without touching the rest of their account. Some setups also let you send a warning when an agent is close to their limit, so nobody is caught out in the middle of a sale.
The honest caveat is that a credit limit protects you from the agent, not from the supplier. When your agent books, the money for that booking often leaves your own deposit with the supplier straight away, so you are funding it until the agent pays you. Pay at hotel bookings behave differently because no money moves upfront. Whether you also get features like per agent markups, statements and automatic reminders depends on your plan and on how your booking engine is configured.
The next thing to do is tell us how many sub agents you expect and whether you want credit, prepaid wallets or both, and we can confirm what your plan covers before you hand out logins.
