Can I tell whether a hotel room will be confirmed straight away before I book it?
Yes, the hotel booking API can usually show whether a room is expected to be confirmed immediately. This information comes from the hotel supplier and may appear with the room details before you complete the booking. It helps your staff explain what the customer can expect before taking payment or making a firm promise.
Some rooms are confirmed as soon as the booking request is accepted, while others may need extra checking by the supplier or hotel. In those cases, the booking may remain pending for a while. Availability can also change between the search and the final booking request, so an immediate confirmation cannot be guaranteed for every room.
After the booking request is sent, your portal should show the status returned by the API. A confirmed status normally means the reservation has been accepted, while a pending or failed status means you should wait for an update or review the message provided. Do not send a final confirmation or hotel voucher to the customer until the booking status clearly shows that the reservation is confirmed.
Check which confirmation statuses your hotel suppliers provide through your plan, and make sure your staff know how to handle any booking that does not confirm immediately.
