Yes, in most cases your old bookings can be brought across, but how much of the detail comes over depends on what your current system allows you to export.

The normal way to do it is to export your existing records into a spreadsheet, then match the columns to the fields in our software. Customer names, contact details, travel dates, destinations, supplier reference numbers and booking values usually transfer without trouble, so your team can search them and include them in reports. What an import cannot do is make an old booking live again. A ticket or hotel booking that was issued through another system stays with that supplier, so an imported record is there for your history and your reporting, and you would still contact the original supplier to change or cancel it.

The result really depends on the quality of what you can get out. A clean file with one row per booking tends to import smoothly. If your present system only gives you printed reports, the information has to be typed in by hand, and that is slow enough that most agencies choose to move only their customer list and the bookings for travel that has not happened yet. Attached documents such as invoices and vouchers often have to be uploaded separately, and some older systems do not offer a full export at all.

Ask your current provider for a complete export of your bookings and customers, then send us a sample of that file so we can tell you honestly what will come across and what will need to be entered manually.

Saved.
