Can I use more than one hotel supplier on my website without customers seeing the same hotel twice?
Yes, in most cases you can, and it is one of the main reasons agencies connect a second or third hotel booking API in the first place. The usual approach is that the properties coming from each supplier are matched together into one hotel record, so when two suppliers both sell the same city centre hotel, your customer sees that hotel once with the available room options grouped underneath it rather than the same building listed twice side by side.
The matching is done by comparing things like the hotel name, the full address, the map coordinates and any reference codes the supplier shares. For well known branded hotels and larger city properties this tends to work reliably. For small guesthouses, apartments, villas, or properties that have recently changed name or owner, it is harder, and you may occasionally see a duplicate entry or find that one supplier's version of a property does not get picked up. That is a normal part of working with several content sources and it improves as the content is reviewed over time.
How far this goes depends on what each supplier actually sends us, how many suppliers you are connected to, and what your plan covers. Some setups merge at property level only, while others also compare the individual room types so your customer sees the cheaper of two matching rooms. You can also usually set an order of preference so that one supplier is favoured when the rate is the same, which helps if you have better commercial terms with one of them.
If you are planning to add another hotel supplier, it is worth asking us to run a sample search across both so you can see how the results sit together before you switch it on for customers.
