Yes, in most cases the baggage allowance comes through with the fare, so you can show your customer what is included before they pay. The information usually arrives alongside the fare details in the search or pricing response, and your website or booking screen can display it next to the price in plain words.

How complete that information is does depend on the airline and the supplier behind the fare. Some airlines return a clear cabin and checked allowance for every passenger type. Others return it as a weight, some as a number of pieces, and some only confirm it at the pricing step rather than in the first list of results. Low cost carriers often sell baggage separately, so the fare may come back with hand baggage only and checked bags offered as a paid extra. In a few cases the detail sits inside the fare rules text, which is harder to display neatly, so you may need to show the rules to the customer rather than a tidy summary.

Because of that variation, we would not promise a perfect allowance line on every single fare from every airline. What we can do is pass through whatever the supplier gives us, and where extra bags can be sold as an add on, support that in the booking flow so your customer buys them from you instead of at the airport.

The practical next step is to run test searches on the routes you sell most, look at what baggage detail actually comes back for those airlines, and decide how you want it worded on your booking page before you go live.

Saved.
