Do your hotel booking APIs show apartments and guest houses too, or only proper hotels?

Yes, in most cases you will see more than just hotels in your search results. Many of the suppliers behind our hotel booking APIs also carry apartments, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, villas and hostels, and these come through in the same search as ordinary hotels, with the property type marked so you and your customer can tell them apart.

How much of this you actually see depends on which suppliers are switched on for your account and on the destination you are searching. Some suppliers are strong on city hotels but thin on self catering places, while others have good apartment coverage in a few countries and very little elsewhere. We cannot promise the same depth everywhere, because the stock is not ours, it comes from the suppliers connected to your plan.

It is also worth knowing that these properties often behave differently from hotels at the point of travel. Reception may be open only at certain hours, keys may have to be collected from another address, local taxes are more often collected on arrival, and cancellation rules can be stricter. Where the supplier sends us those notes, they appear with the room details, though how much detail you get varies from one property to another.
